Pierre Schaeffer’s Etude Noir

“Etude Noire” is an early composition by musique concrete composer Pierre Schaeffer.

Schaeffer is one of the fathers of the Musique Concrete movement in the late 1940s and therefore of much of the experimental music of the 20th Century. Musique Concrete is a form of  music that utilises acousmatic sound  as a compositional resource.

Extracted from a cassette tape recorded from original vinyl record 30 years ago.
